Engaged: Cayley and Kevin

I can’t tell you how excited I was when Cayley told me what she wanted to do for her and Kevin’s engagement session.  I love love LOVE when a couple adds something to their engagement session not only to make it fun, but to make it more them! She wanted to add a little 40′s old-time twist to their shoot with Kevin wearing his Navy uniform and her in an amazingly adorable red dress with her hair done up 40′s style.  I. LOVED. IT.

We had to reschedule this session once due to rain, and when it looked like it might be rained out the second time we were so thankful the rain gods granted mercy on us and opened the sky with sunshine.

These two are tying the knot this weekend and when I asked them if they were nervous/excited/stressed/etc about it, they simply replied that they’re excited to just be married to one another.  :)

Cayley and Kevin, I’m so excited for this weekend!  I know it’ll be fabulous and full of love.

The chose historic downtown Gavleston as their backdrop.  A perfect fit for the look they were going for.

I was pretty much in love with Cayley’s dress (still am).  She bought it online from Pin Up Girl Clothing.  And her hair?  The fabulous work of Kat’s Meow.

Love this next set.  And those uber-cute shoes?  Cayley found them online at Etsy.

This is one gorgeous looking couple!

For the second half of our session we ventured down to the Seawall.  Cayley and Kevin, thanks for being such troopers with the crazy wind!

Cayley, you are freakin’ gorgeous!

Random Ramblings- 11

About a month ago I “liked” the Lone Star Shih Tzu & Lhasa Apso Rescue page on facebook.  Big mistake.  HUGE mistake!  Now everyday when I log into facebook I see photos of adorable little dogs who need a home.  It literally breaks my heart that I can’t take each one home with me.  If you’ve been looking or thinking about dog adoption, check them out.  They have so many dogs that need good homes, I’m sure you’d find at least one that you will fall in love with.

Last week I discovered a little game called Draw Something.  I’m just a tiny bit addicted to it.  Currently I think I have about ten different games going on which is CRAZY!!  Especially when I have work to be done.  I just can’t help it.  The inner-artist (albeit not that talented) finally has its chance to come out.

Up until a  week ago, I hadn’t had any chocolate milk in forever.  Oh my goodness!  I didn’t realize how much I missed it because I’m pretty much addicted to it at the moment.  So delicious!

We had some wonderful weather here last week that made me want to be outside for the sake of being outside.  So I bundled up Harley, Bandit and my camera and we went to the park.  Here’s Harley, enjoying the breeze.

And Bandit, it was a big day for him.

Happy Monday!  :)

Engaged: Sarah and Patrick

“So, you’re beautiful.” That’s all Patrick got out before one of Sarah’s friend’s came up, interrupted and swept Sarah away.  One line.  It was enough.

Sarah was working for a wedding venue in Houston and Patrick was working security that night.  The second he saw her, Patrick knew he needed to get to know this girl.

Even though Sarah got whisked away after Patrick said those three words, Sarah knew what he wanted, and she made sure to give him her number before the end of the night.

I had the incredible privilege to photograph these two WHILE Patrick proposed!  It’s not everyday a photographer gets to document that part of the engagement.  Normally we come in after, but Patrick contacted me and told me he wanted their actual proposal/engagement photographed for Sarah.  I couldn’t have been happier.  After Patrick asked, and Sarah said yes, and they were officially ENGAGED we did a little impromptu engagement shoot as well.

Patrick and Sarah, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for letting me be a part of such an important and personal day of your lives.  You two are amazing and I’m stoked for this next chapter of your lives together.

Patrick proposed at the Houston Waterwall, and he made sure to get everyone’s attention while doing so.
Love the excitement on Sarah’s face right here.
Seriously?  You two are one gorgeous looking couple!
I just had to include this one.  See what’s happening in the background?  Sunday was a great day for love!
Love the next two.

Married: Jennifer and Martin

The day may have started off gloomy and full of rain but the clouds parted just in time for Jennifer and Martin’s wedding.  I can’t say enough great things about these two.  I didn’t get to meet Martin until the day of the wedding but he was so nice and willing to do whatever I wanted for photos and always the gentleman.  Jennifer’s parents along, with her sister, were all married at Grace Presbyterian Church so it was only fitting that Jennifer and Martin get married there as well.

A huge thanks to Lynsey for being an amazing second shooter as always, and to Tania for coming out as well!
